東方神韻下的抽象表現主義—趙無極 朱德群
CHINESE ABSTRACTIONISM- ZAO WOU KI AND CHU TEH CHUN
一九四八年代,趙無極由於深受西方大師克利的深刻影響,一時被稱為「沉悶的克利」,為擺脫此點的他開始拋棄對於客觀事物的依賴,進而以類青銅器上甲骨、鐘鼎文的抽象符號,解放為表現浩然大氣的抽象作品。而後不斷產出一幅幅以時間命明的抽象表現主義,作品充斥了氣勢磅礡的浩然大氣,在傳統文化中,走出了一條專屬於他的路。
The 1948 artist Zao Wou Ki was influenced by his western master Paul Klee. Zao was nicknamed "Dull Klee" for a time. In order to rid himself of this stereotype, he threw away his reliance on objectivity and embraced abstract symbols inscribed on ancient bronze objects and also oracle-bone-scripts, and turned them into grand pieces of abstract work. He went on to produce series of works belonging to abstract expressionism, giving 'time' as their titles. His works usually expressed awe and grandness, and in a way paved a path of his own in the midst of tradition.
至於另一位抽象畫大師—朱德群,其繪畫語言如同藝術家一向酷愛的中國詩詞,運用闊筆與快筆揮灑出快捷、類似中國「飛白」的筆法,作品中也可清楚見到中國書法的俯仰、頓挫與縱橫。在此同時,抽象題材更融入了自身對於大自然鬼斧神工的驚嘆,與面對絕世美景那種發自心靈深處的真切感動,配合上充滿音韻與節奏感的筆調,不時散發洋溢著中國文化與東方精神。吳冠中所形容的「大弦嘈嘈似急雨,小弦切切似私語」可以稱為其畫作的最佳寫照。
Chu Teh Chun, another master of abstract art, produced works that speak the language of Chinese poems. Chu employed broad-pen and quick-sprinkle techniques (similar to Chinese "Feibai" style) for his work. In his works are found techniques used in Chinese calligraphy such as backstroke, press and long cross. His abstract themes mended with his admiration of nature and successfully captured his awe when face to face with natural beauty. His rhythmic strokes radiate the Chinese culture and the Oriental spirit, and Wu Guang Zhong's commend on Chu's work: "Long string sounds like heavy downpour, small string gives a whisper" is perhaps the best description of Chu's work.
