筆墨意境  千里山河的宏偉氣象—劉玖通

談到劉玖通,就不得不談到他在似與不似之間,摻入主觀創作情感後,呈現「藉物抒情,意與境渾」的超然意境。那種代表個人與自然深刻遇合後,所表現出的半具象、乃至抽象,極具張力的山水圖騰。

 

We are impressed by Liu Jiu Tong's imagination. His landscape paintings constitute half realism and half abstractionism. His works are filled with emotions and tension.

 

雖然家鄉在黃土高原,但滾滾黃土卻不曾阻礙劉玖通對江南水鄉的心神嚮往。隨著身處環境轉變,與上海「海派文化」的薰陶過後,劉玖通以上海煙塵與外灘浪潮的現代化為出發點,體現建築結構之美與過往城市繁華雲煙的同時,在作品中充份表現出景物依舊,人事已非的滄桑感,與那種恍然若夢、懷念消逝時光的懷舊情懷,明確地顯示城市仍然喧囂但人心卻已失落的情緒對比。初試啼聲便展露了繪畫天份與情感掌握的功力,藝術家洞悉世情的曠達智慧不言可喻。

 

Liu Jiu Tong comes from the Loess Plateau, but that did not stop his admiration towards the southern water towns of Jiangnan. After going through environmental transitions and later on exposure to the 'Shanghai Culture', his art works usually contrasts the modernity of the city with its dwellers' loss of identity. His inspiration can be traced from the urbanized Shanghai Bund, as he illustrates the structural elegance of modern architecture, to Shanghai's past glory. The paintings show strong comparison between the places that once were and now still are, to the people who are no more. The works present dreamy states and nostalgia. Liu's mastery of emotion and technique, observation and rumination is remarkable.

 

而後,在江南水鄉系列中,劉玖通將原先半具象風格轉往抽象,並串連李白、杜甫…各中國古代名家的詩詞絕句,建構起如詩般的畫作,於抽象的領域中大放異彩。在劉玖通的水鄉國度中,有煙波、有春雨,是無憂無慮的怡然自得,也表露與春同往的無限企盼。鄉愁、築夢,一幅幅滿是情懷的構圖與色調,描繪出藝術家畫作的耐人尋味,同時也展露了他心目中的人間天堂。

 

In his Jiangnan series, Liu Jiu Tong turned from semi-realism to abstractionism. His paintings have the feeling of poems. His "Chinese Water Town" shows smoke and spring shower, and reveals a sense of ease and hope. "Nostalgia" and "Dream Building" show his ideal, heaven-on-earth sceneries.  

 

若說江南之於劉玖通,猶如藝術家寄情之所在,之後的吳山風雲的磅礡大器,便是藝術家飛躍天地的最佳寫照。雖然僅以以天、地,水三者表現的畫面乍看狀似抽象,但就像草書之道般,虛中有實,呈現虛實相生源源不絕的繪畫之理。在這樣的創作歲月中,大自然成為劉玖通的良師益友,水墨般揮灑雲動的筆觸成為他的創作基底。藝術家在與山諦盟、逐風、雲開日出的過程中,持續領略情景相融、虛實相間的筆墨意境,在藝術創作的路途上,持續展現其筆下千里山河的宏偉氣象。

 

Liu Jiu Tong gets his inspiration from nature. Nature is his best friend and teacher. He uses the sky, earth and water as the basis for his paintings. The three basic elements form an abstract chaos at first glance but a closer look gives us an idea of the message he is conveying. Just like Chinese cursive writing, the reality in abstractions shows an incessant cycle of renewal and recurrence. Artists continue to gain inspiration from natural qualities on their creative path.
